Good morning to all!

I hope everyone had a happy, fun and safe Independence Day celebration.

I reread my initial post and it is a bit long winded - I do apologize.

Lets cut to the chase:

I will be adding posts under different categories to make it easy (I hope) to follow:

1. How To (general guides to help make your computing experience more pleasant and efficient)

2. Break/Fix (industry term for problem solving)

3. Hardware reviews (this will be personal opinions and therefore subjective - please add your thoughts here)

4. Software reviews (to include Operating Systems such as Windows, Linux, etc.)

These will change as time goes on I'm sure.

Thank you for visiting!

Greetings! - a personal bio of sorts -

How does one welcome folks to their blog-o-sphere without sounding cliche? I'll tell you, by me being cliche.

Hi and welcome (or as my father used to say: "Greenings and salad dressings!" - yup, it's corny, but that's who he was ...).

I have so far, resisted any kind of blogging and such, as I felt it would simply be deemed ramblings by most and some may even think it trivial and not worth a look. Well, so beit.

After some consideration, I came to the conclusion that even if it is just that, ramblings; it might be fun to kind of brain dump - vent if you will. You are welcome in my little corner of the web world. Mind the cobwebs, I haven't dusted in a while.

My purpose here (if you can call it that), is to offer me an outlet for some of my thoughts regarding PC tech (from the Microsoft corner mostly). You see, I am and have been for nearly 20 some odd years, an IT guy.

I have worked IT in many guises - from retail to corporate level support. I love what I do, very much.

In the last couple of years, I have come to realize, I love to help folks with their PC issues.

I find it personally rewarding to have someone come to me when they have have a problem with their computer, and I am able to fix the issue and save their valuable data; just to see the relief in their eyes and faces, is an indescribable sensation. The pictures, the personal information, everything most precious to them.

I also enjoy educating users regarding their systems capabilities, how to's, usability, things of that nature. The whole 'give a man a fish; teach a man to fish' ideaology.

I digress.

My goal here is simply this: I hope to offer useful information to those who may be seeking it. My plan is to do a kind of informal brain dump, technological how-to - I'm sure you get the picture.

One of my objectives is to try to word things so that someone who is not a geek or enthusiast (as is now the common term) might be able to comprehend the details. By this I mean: with the advent of the tremnedous drops in prices on new systems and components, more people than ever are partaking of this lucious landscape we call technology and the vast ocean of information we call the internet is now in the hands of a wonderfully diverse audience. The majority of which, are not necessarily interested in the computer speak. These audience members are not merely spectators anymore - they are, to my amazement and my absolute joy, active participants in my digital world.

Oh, they don't usually interact with me directly, and they don't personally know me to be sure; nevertheless, they all are part of the grander digital world we call the internet.

These are the ones I hope will find my little spot and will, hopefully, find an answer or some useful information.

Thus endeth the rambling ... for now ...
